Erin Byrne and Thomas Crowther

Valeri and Dr. James Byrne of McCandless, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Byrne, to Thomas Crowther, son of Marlea and Cyril Crowther Jr. of Williamsville.

Miss Byrne received a master of science degree in international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998. She is a national program manager for the executive information unit of the Department of Homeland Security in Springfield, Va.

Her fiance is a 1986 graduate of Williamsville South High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo in 1998. He is a senior project engineer for ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC, specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction inspection and materials testing.

A November 2007 wedding is planned.
