Garden party set to benefit van purchase

The Brothers of Mercy Campus Foundation will host its sixth annual Garden Party at the Casilio Estate on Sunday, Aug. 5 on the grounds of the Pat Casilio estate, 5930 Newhouse Road., East Amherst. Gates will open at 9:15 a.m.

Proceeds from this year's event will be used to purchase a van to facilitate the transfer of patients from the hospital to the Brothers of Mercy campus at the corner of Bergtold and Ransom Roads, Clarence.

Msgr. Rupert A. Wright, Pastor Emeritus of St. Gregory the Great RC Church, Amherst, will celebrate Mass at 10 a.m. It will be followed by a champagne brunch prepared by the chefs of the Brookfield Country Club.

An art show and sale, fine wine auction, and an equestrian exhibition, featuring horses that are boarded at the estate, will be held throughout the morning. Music will be provided by a local string quartet.
