.I want to talk about the gentleman who left the comment about people going around and picking at his garbage. What's the point of throwing something out at the curb if its not going to be gone through or picked at? Garbage is garbage.

.Some vehicles traveling on Grover Cleveland Highway speed and rev their engines making an ear-splitting, deafening noise. The drivers should be fined. Period.

.Everybody knows the Amherst Town Board is in dispute and dysfunctional, but there appears to be one thing they all agree on and that is as soon as some vocal minority makes a little noise, they immediately cave in to this vocal small group instead of considering the overall public good of the Town. An example, the Klein Road sidewalks.

.Some people in the Klein Road area are complaining that it's unsafe to walk or ride your bike there. I agree. Klein Road needs an improvement in safety. I think the Town should do something about it. But there's also other roads in Amherst that need consideration for safety. Take a look at Casey Road, near the middle school. Some areas have sidewalks, some areas don't have sidewalks and it's unsafe for the kids to walk or other people to jog or ride their bikes. The Town should look at the North side of Casey Road where they could make the shoulder wider or put in sidewalks. There are other streets also that could be improved so that people's safety is better.

.We're all very sorry that Mugsy the dog has disappeared and we're all hoping that Mugsy has been returned. Just wondering how long we have to look at signs for the missing dog throughout the Town of Amherst as well as Tonawanda. These signs have been up for so long, for over a month, that the bright pink signs are now faded to white.

.Amherst Supervisor Satish Mohan and his very public but undeclared war on town employees is actually costing the town more money through delays in the union contract negotiations. He is also causing people to be so concerned about the future of the contracts that they're retiring the minute that they are eligible for fear of the havoc that the supervisor might behave. Therefore, people that would otherwise stay with the town and utilize their vast wealth of experience to the benefit of the town are leaving.

.I find it interesting that as an Amherst resident I witnessed Waste Management System collecting our recycling a couple weeks ago with the older style garbage trucks where the glass and the newspaper were all being crushed in together. I thought as an Amherst taxpayer, we paid for recycling. Somebody is not doing their job and from now on I'm going to video record this. I think we're being taken to the cleaners.

.This applies to drivers who access Main or Sheridan via Getzville Road. First of all, Getzville Road is not a speedway , it is very much residential. Secondly, there are four octagon-shaped red signs, two in each direction, that indicate a driver needs to stop. Perhaps we need the Town to place another sign 100 feet before the stop sign to indicate a stop sign is ahead. I doubt it would help the dumbbells who really don't c a re .
