Announcements • Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 for Tori Amos, "American Doll Posse Tour," 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Shea's Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $47.50, $40 and $32, and are available online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 852-5000. • The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas, Post 264, was awarded top honors in the American Legion Senior Band category in the American Legion Department of New York 2007 State Convention Parade in Niagara Falls on July 20. • The North Tonawanda History Museum, 314 Oliver St., will release its first full-length book in August on the history of North Tonawanda. The book, "North Tonawanda: The Lumber City," is expected to be the first in a series of full-length books. The book is $34.95 each and available through the museum. For $38.95, a copy of the book can be mailed. For group sales, call 645-6771. • Kingdom Bound 2007 is offering $30 "After 5 p.m." tickets for the Christian music festival on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Darien Lake. The "After 5 p.m." tickets include admission to the theme park and four major concerts, with Aaron Shust, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, Chris Tomlin and TobyMac. The "After 5 p.m." tickets are also being offered on Aug. 8 for performers Jessie Daniels, The Afters, Geoff Moore and the Distance and Newsboys. Fendrick Theatre Fund will award $1,500 to the winner of its annual theater competition. Consideration will be given to individual applicants to support their writing or production of new, existing or experimental works for theater, as well as for multimedia productions or the completion of theater works in progress. Application forms are available at the Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County, 700 Main St., Buffalo, or by e-mailing Fendrickfund@aol.com. The deadline for applications is Aug. 17. • The 48 Hour Film Project will be held in Buffalo from Aug. 10-12. The film competition features filmmaking teams making a film from scratch in 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world for the title "Best 48 Hour Film of 2007." Each completed film is guaranteed a big-screen showing at the Market Arcade Theatre on Aug. 15 and 16. To register, visit www.48hourfilm.com. Team registration is $125.
