Meeting offers scholarship College-enrolled Hispanic females are eligible to compete for awards offered by the Hispanic Women's League. Students must demonstrate academic achievement with an overall grade point average of 2.75 or higher. Documentation of intent to attend college in the fall semester of 2007 is also required. Community participation will also be a factor in determining the awardees. The deadline for completed applications is October 5. For more information, contact Alicia Granto Estenoz at 885-HELP. Workshops offered The Buffalo Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals is holding review workshops that run from September 2007 through April 2008. Classes will meet on various Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bryant & Stratton College, Southtowns and Amherst Campuses. Workshop fee is $30 per part. Insurance seminar offered From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28 at the Buffalo Conference Center, 6 Fountain Plaza, Buffalo insurance professional Lester J. Robinson III, FICF, and Occupational Safety and Environmental Specialist John P. Coniglio, Ph.D., will present a seminar sponsored by Lorman Education Services Inc. to address the need for accident prevention planning in the workplace. Topics that they will address include establishing a safety culture to comply with OSHA standards, New York Labor Law 200 overview and update, a New York workers' compensation primer, and safety records and issues on construction sites.
