Shannon K. McLaughlin and Thomas P. Ragonnet

Dodie and Dan McLaughlin of Amherst announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Kathleen McLaughlin, to Thomas Paul Ragonnet, son of Diane Ragonnet of Wantagh, N.Y. and the late Paul Ragonnet. Miss McLaughlin graduated from Amherst Central High School in 1998. She received a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism from Ithaca College in 2002. She is a freelance casting producer.

Her fiance is a 1994 graduate of St. Dominic's High School. He received a bachelor of arts in mass communication from the University at Plattsburg. He also has a master's degree in television film production from Chapman University. He is director of operations at Ken Lindner and Associates.

A May 2008 wedding is planned.
