Black Watch NY-West Premier Soccer Club to hold tryouts in August

Tryouts for Black Watch NY-West, a new premier level soccer club, will be held Aug. 4 and 11 at the University at Buffalo South Campus' Rotary Field, 3435 Main St.

Tryouts for the U10 to U13 boys and girls will be held at 9 a.m. The U14 to U18 boys and girls are set for 11 a.m.

Black Watch NY-West focuses on creating a soccer environment that offers professional coaching to develop players' technique and understanding of the game; committed members, both players and parents; talented youth soccer players; and a regional/national standard at which to compete.

Black Watch will raise the standard of expectations for youth players and staff, on and off the field. It will also foster and develop players into well-rounded, youth athletes who will have the opportunity to compete at a higher level.

Black Watch NY-West will be run by club president and current Canisius College head men's soccer coach, Jim Hesch. The staff will consist of strictly college coaches from the area who are dedicated to developing players capable of playing at the next level.
