Harry Potter and Wizard Rock set at museum

The Remus Lupins will give a free all-ages concert at Amherst Museum at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Part of a wave of Harry- Potter-themed rock bands known as "Wizard Rock", under the motto "Fight Evil, Read Books," The Remus Lupins have toured the United States and Canada, performing for free at libraries and other institutions to promote literacy.

The concert by the California-based band will feature fun rock music inspired by the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends (and enemies) at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The Remus Lupins have released several albums: their debut, I'll Be at Hogwarts EP, the full-length album Spells From A Broken Wand, and the follow-up, I Was A Teenage Werewolf. The band was founded by Alex Carpenter in 2005.

Doors will open at 5:30 for this indoor concert in the Shaw Main Building.

Parents are encouraged to attend. For more information, call the museum at 689-1440.
