Harvest Celebration set at Farmer's Market

The Williamsville Farmer's Market will host a Harvest Celebration during the regular hours of the market, 8 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, July 28 on East Spring Street in front of the Williamsville Mill.

"This is a day to celebrate and meet the farmers who grow our local seasonal food," said Lynn Schwab, market co-coordinator.

Bluegrass band Doug Yeomans and Mountain Run will be the featured performers and will begin playing at 9 a.m.

Visitors to the market will also be able to bob for apples; children can participate in the construction of a giant scarecrow that will be on display at the market for the rest of the summer and also participate in the market's coloring page contest for the chance to win a free fruit or vegetable of their choice.

All of the market's vendors will also be selling their goods with the addition of a blueberry vendor and a potato vendor.

Music at the Market will also be featured from 10 a.m. to noon for the remainder of the summer.

Aug. 4 will be Keith and Marilyn Woodin and Jean Dixon. Aug. 11 will be Doug Yeomans. Aug. 18 will be the Sernedipity Bell Ringers. Aug. 25 will be Kathy Moriarty. Sept. 1 will be Nan Hoffman. Sept. 8 will be John Brady. Sept. 15 will be Dave and Steffani Goddard and Keith Woodin. Sept. 22 will be Michael Sheffield. Sept. 29 will be Kathy Moriarty. Oct. 6 will be Kevin Doyle from the Latin Jazz Project. Oct. 13 will be Williamsville South jazz students. Oct. 20 will be City Fiddle. Oct. 27 will be a special surprise guest.
