Mall welcomes new retailers Eastern Hills Mall continues to add to its retail outlet list with the recent additions of Journeys and Ice Jewels, as well as S&K Menswear, currently under construction and slated for a fall opening. Journeys is the shoe store to visit for hip, hot and trendy footwear, according to mall officials. The Eastern Hills location marks the opening of the company's 900th shoe store. Journeys carries many brands, including Dr. Martens, Vans, Converse, Diesel, Rocket Dog, Steve Madden and many more. "This store is the ultimate shopping destination for both younger, cutting-edge fashion fans and anyone still young at heart," mall officials said. "For 'An Attitude You Can Wear,' visit Journeys today, located near Hot Topic in the Sears corridor." Ice Jewels is a contemporary jewelry store with a flair for elegance. The store offers genuine stones in their own creations and designs. A selection of the store features fine art paintings. Ice Jewels is now open near the Food Court. S&K Menswear, a 3,600-square-foot store, will feature a full selection of suits, shirts, pants, ties and accessories. The store offers affordable, high-quality merchandise, including designer lines such as Kilburne & Finch, Vanetta and Daniel Grey. S&K Menswear will be open in October and will be located near Macy's. "We are so proud of the continuing changes that are taking place at Eastern Hills Mall," said Judy Sirianni, the mall's general manager. "The addition of these three new stores plus all the exciting additions and changes that are still to come is a testament to MDC Retail Properties Group's commitment to this mall and Western New York." MDC Retail Properties Group, out of Clifton, N.J., purchased Eastern Hills Mall in 2003 and has since invested in excess of $10 million in renovations and improvements to the center. Some of the most notable improvements are the center court corridor, where a Mall Services kiosk has been added, along with fountains, planters and new marble flooring, and the Food Court, which received a major renovation, including a double sided fireplace, free wireless Internet access, two plasma televisions and new tables and decor.
