The BNI "Circle of Excellence" Chapter will hold its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Friday, July 27 at Marinaccio's Steak and Seafood, 5877 Main St., Williamsville. The speaker will be Jim Hoffman from Hunt Real Estate on the topic of "Coordination of buying your new home and selling your old home." SCORE to host

starting your

business

SCORE of Buffalo/Niagara will hold a program on starting and managing your own business from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Lackawanna Public Library, 560 Ridge Road, Lackawanna. The workshop is for new business startups to learn all the elements of business management required for success. It is also for those in business who may be experiencing problems or who want to fine-tune their business for greater efficiency and success. Participants will learn about marketing research, marketing, business planning, insurance, federal and state taxes, legal structures, government resources, financing, counseling and more. Representatives from the private sector, SCORE and government agencies will make the presentations. SCORE members will be available for counseling if desired.

UB to host

lecture on

human rights

The University at Buffalo will host a lecture titled "Human Rights, Human Wrongs and How to Correct Them" from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the school's North Campus. Claude E. Welch, vice provost and dean of undergraduate education, will speak. For more information, call 645-6404.
