Youth in Halloween costume found passed out

Wednesday, July 4

• A Teakwood Terrace resident reported that a contractor doing work at the residence may have broken in because of a basement window that was smashed and then boarded up.

• A Country Parkway woman reported that there were birds in her home. When referred to the wildlife numbers she insisted on animal control, who said they had been there twice before.

• A complainant reported that a child had just been picked up from North Forest Elementary School by a person holding an open beer can. Patrol spoke to the driver, and the call was unfounded.

Thursday, July 5

• A Charlesgate Circle resident said someone parked in her assigned space. The call was canceled because the driver of the other car arrived, and the complainant chastised him.

• A Hazelwood Drive business reported that a former employee took confidential information from the office and used it to take money from customers.

Friday, July 6

• A Ranch West Terrace woman reported that after being gone for the day she came home to see a male in the family room even though the house was still dark. She called the police from a neighbor's house.

• An employee of an Alberta Drive business reported that the driver of a bluish-green Volvo asked for directions, and when the employee approached the car he saw the driver masturbating. The driver left in an unknown direction.

• A Le Brun Road complainant reported that a neighbor had cut down the complainant's backyard trees sometime the day before. The subject had stated to the complainant that she cut the trees down because they were weed trees and smelled. The complainant just wanted the subject advised.

Saturday, July 7

• A large bonfire was reported on Bramblewood Lane. Patrol was unable to locate any bonfire.

• Two males were reportedly swimming in Ellicott Creek and trying to swim over the falls. All was clear when patrol arrived.

• An employee at a Transit Road business reported that someone may or may not be locked in the bathroom. The employee stated that the subject may have gone in and passed out. There was no one in the bathroom when patrol arrived.

Sunday, July 8

• A Sheridan Drive resident reported seven to eight youths on skateboards lighting aerosol cans and breaking things in a Dumpster. The complainant reported that a few nights ago they had tried to light the Dumpster on fire.

• A beer bottle was thrown through the window of a New Road resident's car. The window was smashed in, and the bottle was found inside the car.

• The former owner of a house on Old Oak Post was reportedly trespassing on the property with friends and was seen sitting on the back porch trying to gain access. The house is vacant, but the complainant will be moving in soon. The complainant also believes that the subject has egged the house and the complainant's car.

Monday, July 9

• A complainant on Lawrence Bell Drive reported that a car hit him in the leg as it was backing up in the parking lot and left.

• A complainant on Sheridan Drive reported that a dog was locked in a van with no windows open. The complainant then called to cancel because the dog was really a stuffed animal.

• A Sweet Home Road business reported giving a piece of equipment to a new employee who then never showed up for work. Patrol contacted the party, and arrangements were made to have the item returned.

Tuesday, July 10

• An injured squirrel was reported in a Fox Chapel Court driveway. It was taken to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

• The rear passenger tires of three vehicles on Sunburst Court were flattened by screws during a three-week period.

Wednesday, July 11

• A Foxpoint Road resident reported that he answered a phone call in which the person on the other end asked him to take a survey. The complainant answered a number of questions until they became personal. When he asked what company the caller represented, the person hung up.

• A group of youths rang the doorbell of a Rollingwood residence and had one youth wrapped up in plastic bags sitting on the porch. The youths ran when the complainant opened the door.

• An employee at a Niagara Falls Boulevard business was on a break when a male wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt with his picture on it approached her and wanted her to get into his car. When she refused, he got out of the car like he was going to get her into the vehicle, but he didn't touch her.

Saturday, July 12

• A female was harassing customers at the Sheridan Harlem Laundromat. She wasn't doing laundry and appeared intoxicated or high. She was transported to a friend's house.

• Police were called to a Transit Road address about a male who was throwing up and was possibly drunk.

• Two bicyclists were injured on Tonawanda Creek Road. One had an arm injury; the other injured the neck and back.

• On Interstate 990 two teens were running into traffic near Sweet Home Road.

Friday, July 13

• A Mill Street resident called police regarding three teens who were hiding in her bushes earlier. She now thinks she knows where they live.

• A Patrice Terrace resident had lawn statues stolen.

• A Le Brun Road resident called police to report a man called her, stating that she won $375,000 and a man would be delivering the check. She believed it was a scam.

• On Maple Road, two blonde girls took off without paying their cab fare. A report for theft was filed.

Saturday, July 14

• An East Chateau Terrace resident reported an injured rat was in the garbage. A request for the town exterminator was filled out.

• A teenager wearing a Halloween costume was passed out on a South Ellicott Street porch, according to the owner. The teen had been in a chair for 10 minutes then starting banging on the front of the house. The teen's dad was responding to the scene.

• A Niagara Falls Boulevard restaurant employee reported that a customer reached over the counter and took money from the drawer. The suspect was still in the restaurant with eight other males. The suspect was banned and the money recovered.

Sunday, July 15

• A Coronation Drive resident complained that neighbors were shooting off Roman candles in the front yard. The area was quiet when police arrived.

• Flames reaching 8 feet high from burning trash was reported on Londonderry Lane.

• Police were called to Main Street where an elderly man was sitting in front of Dunkin Donuts with slippers on and carrying suitcases. No problem was found; he was waiting for the bus.

Monday, July 16

• On Lamarck Drive, a complainant reported that someone threw a mailbox at his car, damaging it.

• A woman on Lamarck Drive complained that her brother would not give her her belongings or her dog.

• A driver was passed out in his vehicle, parked at a Transit Road restaurant. His friends woke him up, and they drove off.

Tuesday, July 17

• On Harlem Road someone reported finding an injured hawk. The call was canceled when the bird flew away.

• A group of six to eight youths, approximately 15 years old, were reportedly sitting and talking about purchasing and using crack behind a plaza on Millersport Highway. The complainant was walking a dog when the conversation was overheard.

• A Brantwood Road resident complained that a neighbor put a garbage can with dog manure next to her door. The complainant also claimed the same neighbor damaged her car.

• A man who had been storing his carpets for 10 years at a Main Street storage location reported he was told they had been sold.

Wednesday, July 18

• A Shellridge Drive resident reported that the next door neighbors started a fire in her yard, possibly burning telephone books.

• Police advised a young male who was driving his car on the basketball courts on Sweet Home Road.

• A Cornell Avenue resident reported that she had received a call at work from a neighbor that a man she knows is sitting on her porch and he should be removed.

• Two youths reportedly took the chain off a tire swing on Hopkins Road and left on bicycles.

Thursday, July 19

• A motorist on Main Street at Youngs Road reported a possible intoxicated driver who went into oncoming traffic. The complainant lost sight of the suspect when he stopped at a light and the other driver went through it.

• A man reported that his car was dented by a woman with a shopping cart on Niagara Falls Boulevard. He reportedly witnessed her pushing it; then it rolled into his car.

• A fire alarm activated on Transit Road was pulled by a child who didn't know it was an alarm.

• A false burglary alarm was set off on Main Street. The alarm company was advised that a large dog be mentioned when alarms are reported. The interior was not checked due to a large dog growling near the door.
