Clarence MOW to hold rock benefit

Some of the top names in Western New York's original music scene will perform at the 3rd Annual "Rock the Barn" benefit concert for Clarence Meals on Wheels from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, July 20.

"Rock the Barn" will be held behind the yellow barn at 9015 Main St. in Clarence. Admission is $10.

The event will feature original live music on an outdoor stage, along with food, cash bar and great prize drawings. All proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels of Clarence.

"Rock the Barn" was conceived in 2005 by Clarence businessman Paul Stephen as a fundraiser for the community's Meals on Wheels program. Over 600 people attended the 2006 version of the event, led by The Great Train Robbery.

Tickets to the event can be purchased at the door or at Rock Oak West, 9925 Whitwick Terrace, Clarence; Pizza Inn, 6235 Goodrich Road, Clarence; and Clarence Chamber of Commerce, 9875 Main St., Clarence.

The performers for 2007's "Rock the Barn" are:

The Great Train Robbery, John & Mary and the Valkyries, the Audience and Exotic Aquatic, whose members include Ian Murray, Brendan Finn, WIll Africano and Jordan Molzen who are all 2007 graduates of Amherst High School.

Rock The Barn 2007 sponsors, include Rock Oak Estates, Intertech Digital Entertainment, Inc., Kulback's Construction, Pizza Inn, Bank of Akron, Clarence Rotary, Kimil Construction, First Niagara, Security Mortgage, Philips, Lytle, LLP, D & H Paving, Transwave Communications Systems, Inc., Alden Sanitary Service, Arista Development, A-1 Concrete Leving & Foundation Repair, Bobcat of Buffalo and Wilson Farms.
