Moslow
Just one week after his last official day as Amherst police chief, John Moslow is serving under the same title for another jurisdiction.

Moslow was named chief of security for the Eighth Judicial District, effective July 17.

After serving as chief in Amherst for eight years, for a total of 32 years on the force, Moslow ended his career in the town on July 10.

In his new position he will be responsible for oversight of all court security operations within the eight counties of Western New York, including the supervision of 137 New York State court offices in Erie County.

Moslow will also be coordinating court security matters with 15 police and sheriff's agencies for courts in 19 locations throughout WNY.

"Court security remains one of my highest priorities. We strive to assure that judges, court employees, attorneys and members of the public are able to conduct business of the court in a safe secure environment," Administrative Judge Sharon S. Townsend, said. "John Moslow's outstanding security credentials and experience will serve as tremendous asset to the courts of the Eighth Judicial District."

Moslow has served on the Board of Governors of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police and was recognized in 2006 by the National Conference for Community and Justice as the recipient of the Brotherhood/ Sisterhood Award in Law Enforcement.
