Vow renewal marks 50th anniversar y

Janet and Douglas Ferguson of Depew celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows at St. Mary's on the Hill Church in Lancaster. The couple also received a papal blessing. A reception for family and friends was held at Salvatore's Italian Gardens, Depew.

Douglas Ferguson married the former Janet M. Pelc on June 8, 1957 in Holy Trinity Church, Utica.

Douglas is a retired manager with Westinghouse Electric Corp. Janet is a homemaker.

The couple are volunteers for Meals on Wheels and the Lancaster Opera House. They are members of St. Mary's on the Hill Church. They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, traveling and attending concerts.

The couple have four children and 10 grandchildren.
