Bride escorted by parents in afternoon ceremony

Melissa Alayne Uhteg married Bartholomew Patrick McGloin in an afternoon ceremony on Saturday, July 14, 2007 in St. Philip the Apostle Church in Cheektowaga. The Rev. Joseph Bayne officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia and Robert L. Uhteg of Cheektowaga, who celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on July 14. The groom is the son of Patricia Harrigan McGloin of Lancaster and Bartholomew Mc- Gloin of Cheektowaga.

The bride was escorted by her mother and father.

She wore an ivory strapless A-line gown with a drop waist and detailed beading on the bodice and cathedral-length train. Her mid-length ivory veil had crystal accents. She carried a colonial wrapped bouquet of ivory roses scattered with Blue Curiosa roses, stephanotis and pearls.

Kelly Kellogg was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Kellogg, niece of the bride, and Sara Sinclair, Renee Frazier and Laura Morgan, friends of the bride.

Flower girls were Vanessa Uhteg, niece of the bride, and Madison McGloin, niece of the groom.

Scott McGloin was best man for his brother.

The ushers were Jason Uhteg, brother of the bride; Sean Kellogg, nephew of the bride; James Cohan, friend of the groom; and Jeff Kupka, friend of the bride and groom.

The ring bearer was Patrick Uhteg Jr., nephew of the bride.

A reception was held in the festival ballroom at Salvatore's Italian Gardens in Depew.

The couple will be honeymooning in San Francisco and Hawaii.
