AHS student studies in D.C. Jake Struebing, a student at Amherst High School, has joined a select group of students representing their schools, communities and states as People to People student leaders. He was accepted into the People to People Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., that began July 9 and will close July 18. All students accepted into a People to People program must meet academic and leadership requirements. Struebing was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential. The summits bring together student leaders from around the globe to focus on leadership, team building, community service, college admissions and professional aspirations. People to People was founded by former President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. For information, visit www.lsleaders.org. |
