School News Margaret Jaus, a student at Denison University, has been selected as a Woodyard Fellow to collaborate with faculty on research. The Woodyard Fellowship Program, named in honor of Professor of Religion David O. Woodyard, focuses on themes within the general area of religion and civic responsibilities. Her research is titled "Calling Our Dominant Consciousness Into Question," and her advisor is Professor David Woodyard. She was a 2006 graduate of Amherst Central High School. The American Association of University Women Buffalo Branch, Inc. recently awarded scholarships to Shuchen Song, Amherst High School, the $1,000 Velma Cobb Scholarship; and Natalie Edbauer, Williamsville East High School, the $3,000 Catalyst for Change Scholarship. Daniel Brunner of Williamsville recently received a scholarship from the Grand Lodge and Trustees of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. A total of 683 scholarships were granted in the country. Kayla A. Maxwell of East Amherst was named the 2007 recipient of the St. Michael's College Scholarship and Service Book Award. She was recognized for volunteerism and leadership through community service. Maxwell will be a senior in the fall at Williamsville North High School. |
