Niagara girls lacrosse day camp scheduled for July

The Niagara Girls Lacrosse Day Camp, sponsored by Patterson Lacrosse, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, July 23 to Thursday, July 26, at Amherst High School, 4301 Main Street.

This is the tenth year the local camp has offered instruction to girls in grades 3-12 and ability levels from beginner to advanced. The camp emphasizes skill work, game play, and coaching in special situations for field players and goalies.

Under the direction of Amherst varsity girls lacrosse coach Janet Battaglia, the camp boasts an experienced staff of high school and college coaches as well as current college players.

This year, campers have an added bonus of receiving a clinic and exhibition game on July 27 from the US National U-19 team as it practices at Amherst to prepare for world competition the following week in Peterborough, Ont. Registrations are currently being accepted.
