Marine Corps to honor Cpl. Dunham at Appreciation Day, July 14

      The fourth annual Marine Appreciation Day will posthumously honor Cpl. Jason Dunham with the Medal of Honor. Co-chairman of the event, Cliff Nelson of Amherst, said the honor recognizes Cpl. Dunham's heroism while serving in Iraq. It is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. military.

      This year's winner of the Loughran's 13th annual Alumni 5K Race, Denny Pollow, 20, of Ransomville, finished in 15 minutes and 44 seconds. More than 530 people signed up for the July 9th 5K Race and Wellness Walk that benefited the lung unit of Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
