ESSAY ENTRY HONORED
Recent Williamsville East graduate Cathy Sun, pictured with Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, was the New York winner of the National Peace Essay Contest and attended the Awards Week in Washington, D.C. in June. Participating students were asked by the U.S. Institute of Peace "to assume the role of the leader of the United Nations task force on youth and conflict and develop programs to prevent young people from turning to violence and to help them rejoin their community after a conflict." Sun interned at Clinton's Buffalo office and will attend Harvard University in the fall.
