Park committee thanks volunteers

I just want to express a big thanks to the Village Parks Committee volunteers and the neighborhood residents who came out Saturday, June 30 with their rakes to help clean up, trim and pick up all that needed doing at Garrison Park.

It is volunteers like you who help our community to be a better place to live in and also keep the added tax burden down for the village residents. Also, a big thanks to the Eagle Scout leader and his troop for the fantastic job they have done painting and sprucing up the play equipment in the park. I know you still plan on working in the park, and I'm sure you will do just as fine a job.

I thank the community for their patience as we get back on track throughout the village park system. We hope to continue to address "The Big Toy" at Garrison to see what can be done to rehab it and possibly add a toddler-appropriate piece. We, as a committee, will continue to serve all of the residents at each of our parks - Garrison, Island, South Long and Lehigh Memory Trail.
