      I attended the Amherst Town Board meeting held on July 2 and was shocked to learn that the taxpayers of Amherst are paying $50,000 a month more in health insurance for the Highway Department than we have to for the other employees.

Park committee thanks volunteers
      I just want to express a big thanks to the Village Parks Committee volunteers and the neighborhood residents who came out Saturday, June 30 with their rakes to help clean up, trim and pick up all that needed doing at Garrison Park.

      When I was growing up, Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam, Jainism and Buddhism were ideas in my geography book from countries far away and outside of my realm of existence. However, in our ever increasing pluralistic world, those parents who complained to the Williamsville School Board need to take heed.
