Cleanup efforts are being handled well
      I would like to thank the men and women of the Town of Amherst Highway Department and their supervisor, Bob Anderson, for doing a great job on collecting the tree brush that was at my curb. When I came home on Friday, the brush was gone and so were the majority of the smaller twigs.

But, how many millions in federal aid would Amherst seek in the future in the wake of flooding and shifting of foundations that will occur if we remove 10,000 large tree root systems?

Great Race was a great time
      On Friday, June 22, St. Gregory the Great hosted the 12th Annual Great Race and Party. This wonderful community celebration each year marks the unofficial start of summer. We had more than 1,000 runners and walkers and more than 3,000 people of all ages at the postrace party.
