Fireworks at Artpark
Artpark will celebrate Independence Day with free events beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 at 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston.

Artpark's scenic outdoor amphitheater will feature numerous artistic happenings for children such as face painting, dress-up and more at 6:30 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m., the patriotic sounds of the award-winning American Legion Band of the Tonawandas will be heard at the outdoor amphitheater. The 90-member ensemble was formed in 1929 by World War I veterans and Post 264 members.

Other highlights of the event includes an appearance by costumed soldiers from Old Fort Niagara.

The finale of the Lewiston Council on the Arts' Jazz Wednesdays series relocates from the Hennepin Park Gazebo to Academy Park, located between Ninth Street and Portage Road, where the Nickel City Clippers will perform. The group will play music from the Dixieland era from 7 to 9 p.m. The evening will then conclude with a fireworks display at dusk.
