When Northtown Animal Hospital opened its doors on May 7, a pet-friendly addition to the Amherst and Ken-Ton communities was in the making - much to the delight of its furry patients.
Servicing the areas of Amherst, Kenmore and North Buffalo, the Niagara Falls Boulevard-based animal hospital promises a positive, relaxing atmosphere right down to the koi fish pond in the waiting area.
The intimate environment of the hospital is a reflection of its mission statement: to provide individualized and personal treatment for local pets in a way only a small, community-conscious animal hospital can.
"We are designed for people who see their pets as children, as important members of the family," said head veterinarian and founder Dr. Jean Schaedler.
Schaedler, a board-certified member of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, has served the Western New York region for 16 years. Additionally, she is certified with a specialization in canine and feline medicine.
Northtown Animal Hospital represents her newest initiative to bring the highest-quality veterinary service to Western New York. The clinic provides both outpatient and inpatient programs for dogs and cats and serves smaller exotics, such as hamsters, ferrets and rabbits, as well as reptiles.
Wellness exams, checkups and vaccinations are available, and a full medical suite offers surgical and dental inpatient resources.
Northtown Animal Hospital is located at 839 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst. Appointments may be scheduled over the phone by calling 834-VETS (8387).
