Edna Pautler, retired nursing supervisor

Edna Pautler, 91, a retired nursing supervisor at Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Beachwood Nursing Home, Getzville.

Born in Clarence, Miss Pautler lived most of her live in the Eggertsville Williamsville area. She was a 1941 graduate of Mt. St. Mary's School of Nursing and later received a degreein nursingfrom theUniversity of Rochester. During World War II, she served in the Army Nurse Corps 23rd General Unit with tours of duty in Africa, Italy, and France.

She was a life member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Benedict's Church and a member of St. Ann's Sodality at SS. Peter & Paul Church. Miss Pautler was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was an active volunteer for the Buffalo Philharmonic, Studio Arena, and Oakwood Nursing Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 5480 Main St., Williamsville.
