Ethan Allen makes donation

For the past month, Amherst's Ethan Allen Design Center was in the business of making dreams come true for area charities.

On June 5, Ken Slomovitz, owner of the Amherst Ethan Allen, presented a $10,000 donation to the Hospice Foundation of Western New York in support of its service for terminally ill citizens in the area.

Hospice was one of five Buffalo organizations recognized by Ethan Allen at an awards gala celebrating the conclusion of Ethan Allen's Community Challenge - a month-long event that invited customers to visit the Ethan Allen Design Center in Amherst and vote for their favorite organization, to which a $10,000 donation would be made.

"This was our way of giving back to our community by recognizing the work of five very deserving organizations. Our customers enjoyed coming into the design center and voting for their favorite organization, and in the end, the Hospice Foundation was best represented," Slomovitz said.
