Slo-Pokes seek trophy sponsors

The Main-Transit Fire Department will host its annual Slo-Pokes Firematic Tournament on Saturday, July 7.

In order to help defray costs of the day, the Slo-Pokes Racing Team is asking vendors, individuals and area businesses to sponsor a full block of trophies for one of eight races or one of the overall point trophies for the day.

To sponsor a first-, second- and third-place trophy, complete with the name of a business or person, a donation of $50 is required. A donation of $40 is required to sponsor only one trophy.

In addition to the regular Slo-Pokes drill, the junior firefighters, the Fast-Pokes, are hosting a juniors tournament at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 8 at the Main-Transit Fire Station No. 1. Any remaining donations will be used to purchase the same type of trophies for the day's events.

Donations may be mailed with the name as it should appear on the trophy to Trophies, Main-Transit FD, 6777 Main St., Williamsville, NY 14221.
