Red Sox 7, Cardinals 6

The Red Sox used a come-from-behind, late-inning rally for a third straight game and kept their record clean with a 7-6 victory over the Cardinals on June 5.

Led by coaches Mark Hammer, Paul Daddario and Jim Lyskawa, the Red Sox upped their season mark to 12-0.

They built a 5-0 lead and seemed to be cruising as Cal Jackson threw four shutout innings, allowing only three hits and striking out four. But the Cardinals bats came alive in the bottom of the fifth with six runs crossing the plate. The big blow was a grand slam off the bat of Andrew White.

The Red Sox rallied in their last at-bat and were lifted by the bat of Miles Young, whose triple tied the game at 6-6. Young would later score what proved to be the game winning run. Red Sox hitting stars also included Jeff Becker (2 for 3, two runs scored) and Mitch Daddario (hit, two runs scored).
