Pancake House damaged by fire

A Williamsville restaurant remained closed for cleanup yesterday following a fire on Saturday night.

The Original Pancake House, 5479 Main St., sustained an estimated $10,000 damage after a passerby reported seeking smoke coming from the building at 11:24 p.m.

Williamsville Fire Chief Richard Maddigan said a stove in the kitchen was not shut off when the restaurant closed for the evening. Food and other items on top of the grill surface were consumed in the resultant fire.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and ventilated smoke that filled the structure. Main-Transit assisted with a Firefighter Assist and Search Team.
