MEET THE CANDIDATES
Mary E. Lowther Mayor
Village Vision Party

Lowther
In 2003, I won a four-year term as village trustee. Two years into my term I was appointed by the Board of Trustees to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mayor Ray Hazlett. Now I ask for your support and vote for a full four-year term as mayor.

There are projects that I would like to see finished that were started during my tenure. The community plan, water mill restoration, major infrastructure improvements and more will come together during the next few years. My leadership will help move these projects to fruition.

My 30-year accounting and business experience will help control our budget. I have worked cooperatively with our Village Board and staff, town, state and federal officials seeking advice and help when needed and will continue to work collaboratively.

During the aftermath of the October storm, I approved going to outside sources from Niagara County to get the help we needed. Within 48 hours additional manpower and equipment hit our streets to help restore normalcy. By the first business day following the storm, I had the regional FEMA director and Rep. Tom Reynolds in our streets inspecting and assessing the damage. Our village was inspected before any other local municipality because I pushed for help. With assistance from all levels including our residents, we kept Village Hall open, had our Public Works Department on continual 12-hour shifts and got the village reopened.

It has been my privilege to be the mayor for these past two years, and if re-elected, I pledge to continue delivering low taxes, accountability, outstanding service and accessibility. Good government and leadership are no accident. Experience, hard work, dedication, and common sense make things happen in our village. If re-elected, I will continue leading our village in this direction.
