Village election to be held June 19

The Village of Williamsville ballot is set for the election to be held Tuesday, June 19.

Incumbent Justice Jeffrey Voelkl is running unopposed for re-election. He is a partner at the Williamsville-based law firm of Robshaw & Associates, P.C. He is endorsed by the Harmony Party and the Village Vision Party.

Running for mayor are incumbent Mary Lowther and Village Trustee Brian Geary.

Lowther, who is running under the endorsement of the Village Vision Party, was elected as a trustee four years ago and was appointed as mayor after the resignation of Ray Hazlett two years ago.

As the Harmony Party's endorsed candidate, Geary was elected to the Village Board in 2005.

Running for open seats on the Village Board are incumbent Richard Sweeney and David Lipinoga from the Village Vision Party and Brian Kulpa and Jeffrey Kingsley from the Harmony Party.

Sweeney has been a trustee for the past two years and currently is deputy mayor.

Lipinoga has earned a paralegal certification from the University at Buffalo.

Kulpa is a member of the Parks Committee and Community Planning Committee.

Kingsley is a commercial litigator and a graduate of Hamilton College and the University at Buffalo.

The election will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Polling places are the Meeting House, 5658 Main St., for those living north of Main Street and Village Hall, 5565 Main St., for those living south of Main Street.
