Powers - Flenner

Matthew W. Flenner and Anne L. Powers

Patricia and William Powers of Longwood, Fla., formerly of Depew, announce the engagement of their daughter, Anne Lesley Powers, to Matthew Wallace Flenner, son of Diana and Robert Flenner of Nitro, W. Va.

Miss Powers is a 2000 graduate of Depew High School. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2003 and a master's degree and specialist certification in education from the University of Florida in 2006. She is a school counselor at Newberry High School, Newberry, Fla.

Miss Powers is also the tennis coach at Newberry High School, where her fiance proposed on the tennis courts after the last match of the season. He is tennis coach at rival Chiefland High School, Chiefland, Fla.

Her fiance is a 1995 graduate of Nitro High School. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from Marshall University, Huntington, W. Va. He is also band director at Chiefland High School.

An April 2008 wedding is planned.
