+ The Buffalo Infringement Festival will hold open auditions for multiple productions (from original scripts to classics) that will be part of this summer's festival. Actors of all ages, ethnicities and genders are asked to prepare a two- to five-minute monologue of their choice for the audition from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Rust Belt Books, 242 Allen St. Walk-ins are welcome, but to schedule a specific audition time, contact Matthew LaChiusa at 716-884-4858 or MORPHINEHEART@msn.com with your name and the time you would like to come in.

+ Studio Arena Theatre is holding auditions for its holiday production of "Indian Blood" by A.R. Gurney. Auditions will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 21 and 22 at 710 Main St., Buffalo. Seeking male actors to play 16-year-old high school students, no taller than 5'6" and male actors to play characters ages 40 to 45 and 65 to 70. Also, female actors to play characters aged late 30s and mid-40s to 50s. Those interested should prepare: Sides for the appropriate roles, available for pick-up at the Studio Arena box office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. + Starry Night Theatre Inc. will hold auditions for the musical "Oliver!" from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 18 and 19 at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. Auditions are for ages 10 and older. Auditioners will be asked to perform a song from a musical and to bring music for an accompanist or pre-recorded accompaniment. No appointments are necessary. + Artpark has added an additional week of Art Camp to its 2007 schedule. Enrollment is now open for Aug. 6 to 10. The camps runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and is $200, and is highlighted by a camper-created art show on the final afternoon. + Doug Zschiegner has replaced the late Timothy Ward as acting faculty/associate director of Niagara University Theatre.

+ Niagara University theater studies student Charles Wahl, a junior from Buffalo, is the third recipient of the Tara Laurie Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established by Tara's parents, Donald and Janice Laurie, in 2005 to assist Niagara University theater studies students who apply to the department's summer theater program at Schiller International University in London, England. Wahl is among a group of NU theater students who will study at Schiller this summer.

+ The University at Buffalo Department of Theatre and Dance will be offering its Summer Dance Program from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, July 23-Aug. 9. Classes will take place in the Center for the Arts Dance Studios, Room B82 on the UB North Campus. Classes include ballet (Mondays), modern (Tuesdays), African (Wednesdays), jazz (Thursdays) and tap (Thursdays) for intermediate and advanced level. Cost ranges from $8 for single class to $96 for 12 classes. Participants must be 16 or older. + Kingdom Bound seeks volunteers ages 16 and older for various positions from Aug. 5-8 at Darien Lake. Positions include admission, security, altar ministry, artist merchandise, children's ministry, prayer team, ushering and other needs. Volunteers are asked to work five hours per day. + The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts council is seeking artists and crafters, food vendors and nonprofit organizations to participate in the 29th annual Picnic in the Park on July 4. + The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra has been awarded a $100,000 state grant for 2007 Education Programming, secured by State Senator Mary Lou Rath. The funding will support the BPO's music education programs, including interactive lectures and behind-the scenes lessons for students of all ages.

+ The Allentown Village Society's 2007 art scholarship recipients include Jooyeon Oh, Buffalo Seminary to Rhode Island School of Design; Laura Rothfuss, Iroquois Central to Buffalo State College; Connor Lesniak, Buffalo City Honors to Parsons - the New School of Design; Laura Schmitz, Kenmore East to Northeastern University; Jared Reisweber, Amherst Central to Savannah College. College sophomores for their junior and senior years: Bonnie Mae Stuber, University at Buffalo - Department of Visual Studies; Laurie Hermann, Empire State College. A total of $18,000 will be given. Each student will receive $1,000 a year for his or her first two years of post-high school education.
