Sacred Heart teacher chosen as Nobel educator

Marcia Snyder of Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart has been selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars.

She was nominated by student Jennifer Harb for "outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in teaching." Harb is a student in Snyder's advanced placement calculus class.

The award recognizes teachers who have made a lasting difference in their classrooms by encouraging students to strive for excellence.

Student members of the National Society can nominate one educator who has made the most significant contribution to his or her academic career.

What makes the award special is it is an honor bestowed upon an educator by a young scholar.
