Lou Gehrig 'AA' Angels, Mets post wins In a hard-fought game, the Lou Gehrig "AA" Mets' baseball team fell to the Angels 10-6, as the Angels took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning for the win. Perfect plate appearances for the Mets came from Sam Barillari and Carter Wild, each going 2 for 2. Other big hits were provided by Alex Wanat, Patrick Allen and Brady Homberger during the closely played game. Some stellar defense was provided as well by Homberger as he snared a fly ball in right center field. Some other great defensive plays were made as the Mets tossed some runners out from the outfield as Wanat and Kyle Spoth and Wild and Matthew Schrlua each teamed up to make plays. Mets 24, Marlins 6 The Mets played one of their strongest games of the year as they beat the Marlins, 24-6. The Mets pounded out 36 hits during the game. Perfect plate appearances were provided by Steven Metzger (5 for 5, two doubles) and Dylan Birzon, Matthew Schrlau, Sam Barillari, and Jake Zurat, who each went 4 for 4. Defensively the team played exceptionally well as Carter Wild, Spoth, Sam Barillari, and Justin Genneve each had several impressive putouts. |
