John W. Hambridge, 51, of Cheektowaga, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007.

A graduate of Amherst High School, Mr. Hambridge was an avid marathon runner who ran a total of 13 marathons over his lifetime. Among them, he competed in the Skylon Marathon, the Lake Ontario Marathon, and the Presque Isle Marathon.

He also competed several times in the Darien Lake Triathalon, once finishing in the top 100.

Mr. Hambridge was employed for many years in the family business, Dairy Queen on Harlem Road in Cheektowaga.

He is survived by his parents, Norman and Fay Hambridge; two sons, Adam and Andrew; one daughter, Amy; one brother, Thomas; and two sisters, Lynn Olsen, and Kay McGinn.
