Celebrate arts in Amherst "Amherst Celebrates the Arts 2007, A Family Festival" will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at the Amherst Museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, at New Road. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is free. This annual event for all ages showcases Amherst's varied artisans and performers. On-going performances and activities will be presented throughout the day for the whole family including free performances, concerts, art demonstrations, theater, dance, special events and a chance to participate in a variety of hands-on art activities. There will also be performances and exhibits by the Amherst Players, American Academy of Ballet, Victorian Dance Society, Academy of Theatre Arts, Amherst Chamber Ensembles, Ring Masters Handbell Ensemble, Glenn Colton, Artyard Studios, Learn to Dance with Mike, Williamsville Art Society, Ten Thousand Villages, Amherst Male Glee Club, USA Dance, Oceans Z Schools, Amherst Chinese Academy, UB Center for the Arts, Audubon Public Library, Ishani Shah -Indian classical music, Amherst Symphony, New York State Designer Blacksmiths, Nature Ed-Ventures and Quilters Guild, Lacemakers. The Amherst Museum buildings will be open with docents in period attire. The event is presented by the Arts and Culture in Public Places Board of the Town of Amherst.
