FAMILY TRADITION
Andrew Wielgas of Amherst received the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor at St. Christopher's Church in Tonawanda on May 17.Wielgas is a member of Boy Scout Troop 58, sponsored by the church. His brother, Daniel, father, David, and both his grandfathers, Chester Wielgas and John Stoffer, are Eagle Scouts. For his Eagle project, Wielgas designed, built and installed 24 bat habitats at the Penn Dixie Geological Site in Hamburg. He is a senior at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and plans to pursue an accounting degree at Canisius College in the fall.
