Couple mark 60th anniversar y

Dr. and Mrs. LaVerne Campbell

Gloria and Dr. LaVerne Campbell of Clarence will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this month.

LaVerne Campbell married the former Gloria Miller on June 7, 1947 in Luther Memorial Church, Erie, Pa.

A Navy veteran of World War II, LaVerne, a physician, is the retired regional health director of the Buffalo Office of the State Health Department. He also is the retired medical director and vice president of Blue Shield of Western New York.

Gloria was a volunteer at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital when it first opened, serving there for 11 years. She also was secretary in the guidance department of St. Mary's High School in Lancaster and at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Harris Hill.

The couple have three sons, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
