South modified girls lax completes season 6-6

The Williamsville South modified lacrosse team finished with a 6-6 record.
On May 16, South lost to Sweet Home, 10-9. Trailing 6-4 at halftime, Kara Pomeroy and Taylor Stone scored for South. In the final four minutes, Ali Ferenczy, Kevinah Dargan, and Stone tried to rally South back Sweet Home held on
In the first half, Shannon Martin had two goals and Jessica Utech, Callie Bridge each scored once.
Alexa Dash and Julia Hagadorn provided excellent offense. Ally Brace led the defense.
The next day, South closed out the season with a 8-5 loss to Clarence.
Clarence took an early 3-0 lead but Utech and Stone scored minutes before the first half ended.
In the second half, Clarence scored a couple of goals before Martin set up Ferenczy. Stone and Utech each tallied goals for South.
Elizabeth Malinowski and Alison Leonard were South's defensive stars. Utech and Stone were the team's offensive stars.
Joslin Downey made 15 saves. Stone led South with 26 goals followed by Ferenczy (14), Martin (10), Utech and Shannon Kielich (five each), Haley Rubino and Bridge (four each), Dargan and Pomeroy (three each), and Kyra Kryder, Brace, Francesca Cutrona, and Melissa Suszynski (one each).
