Students awarded scholarships from Western Division

Western Division Federal Credit Union has awarded scholarships of $750 to eight local high school seniors for outstanding academic performance.

Each applicant was judged on his or her four-year cumulative scholastic performance, community service, leadership roles and an essay.

For more than 10 years Western Division has aided students in Western New York with higher education needs.

"We are a strong believer in education," says Craig Mellenthien, president and CEO of Western Division. "Our young adults are our future; their success is our success."

Winners included Kelsey Till of Williamsville North High School, Marisa Kelly of Sweet Home High School, Kristen Kern of Williamsville South High School and Elizabeth Forster of Williamsville East High School.
