Quality desserts at Ettaro's

For freshness, quality and everyday reasonable prices, Ettaro's Italian Desserts is the place to go.

Conveniently located in Amherst, Ettaro's offers a variety of freshly baked mouthwatering Italian cookies, pastries, pies and cakes. The bakery specializes in catering for weddings, showers, business and social gatherings and holiday parties.

Owners John Ryan and Nicholas Ettaro opened their business in October 2006. The facility is a comfortable in-house pastry shop that has a mini ice cream parlor, with 15 flavors and items like Italian cream sodas and smoothies.

"We are an upscale yet very comfortable facility at reasonable prices," said Ryan.

With 17 varieties of Italian cookies, homemade cannoli with ricotta-filling, Tiramisu, chocolate fudge brownies and cheesecake squares, the bakery is sure to have something for everyone. Coffee lovers can indulge in several varieties of coffee including hot or iced lattes, espresso and cappuccino.

In addition to desserts, every Sunday is pasta day. From noon to 7 p.m., customers can enjoy pasta with homemade sauce, two meatballs and a slice of Italian garlic toast, all prepared fresh in the store for $8.95.

The pasta cut is different each week and includes spaghetti, rigatoni and fettucini. Sausage can be substituted for meatballs. Ettaro's also has fresh chef salads with homemade balsamic vinaigrette, truly an authentic treat.

Need help finding a gift for that certain someone? Ettaro's offers an Italian cookie sampler box that includes all 17 varieties, packaged in an upscale box with the company's logo.

Other sweets on the menu include their signature carrot cake, giant chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, and large biscotti covered with dark chocolate. They also specialize in wedding cakes.

Everything sold at Ettaro's is made on site with the freshest ingredients.

"We really focus on quality," said Ryan. "Our number one priority is customer satisfaction and customer service."
