Michael F. Brannen, sprinkler fitter

Michael F. Brannen, 51, of Amherst, a sprinkler fitter for Davis-Ulmer Sprinkler Co. in Amherst, died Saturday, May 19, 2007.

Born in McKees Rock, Pa., he moved to Buffalo with his family when he was a youth. He was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and served in the Marines before being discharged in 1975.

Mr. Brannen worked as a sprinkler fitter at Davis-Ulmer Sprinkler Co. in Amherst, starting as an apprentice before becoming a journeyman.

He was a 30-year member of the Elliott Creek Fire Company where he was a member of the Board of Directors and manager of the company's softball team and competed in a bowling league. He was also involved with Lou Gehrig Baseball as a member of the Board of Directors and as a coach.

Mr. Brannen is survived by his wife, the former Teri Burns; mother, Midge; three sons, Timothy, Steven, and Jonathan; three brothers, Don, Pat and Michael; and two sisters, Karen and Colleen.

Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23 at Dengler & Roberts Funeral Home, 8630 Transit Road, East Amherst, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Christopher's Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd. Tonawanda.
