Angeline Burgio, homemaker
Over the years, Angeline Burgio worked for Curtiss-Wright, FN Burt's, and Sammy's Drive Inn, but her children said her most successful job was that of an unselfish, loving and caring mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Burgio, 85, of Amherst, a homemaker for most of her life, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Hospice Buffalo.
Born Angeline Callari in Wood, Pa., she was widowed twice at a young age, losing her first husband, Sebastian Bordonaro, because of an industrial accident when her children were 3 and 5 years old, and her second husband, John Burgio, who died less than two years after their marriage.
"Our mother was the most kind, giving and unselfish person anyone could meet," said her daughter, Sharon Raymond. "She was never bitter and always made the best of things without complaint."
Mrs. Burgio was a former member and past president of St. Margaret's Mothers Club, enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills.
Mrs. Burgio is also survived by her son, Lawrence, and four grandchildren.
Prayers were said on Saturday, May 19 from Amigone Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Christopher's Church.
