Community Day to be held Eggertsville center

A family event has been planned at the site of the future Eggertsville Community Center.

Aaron Stanley, president of the Eggertsville Community Organization, said the event is designed to spotlight the fundraising campaign for the new center.

Community Day at the Eggertsville Youth and Community Center is a free event with activities for youth and adults. It will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2 in the parking lot at the center, 4110 Bailey Ave., Amherst.

Activities will include crafts, a bounce house, an Eggertsville Hose fire truck and face painting by the Amherst YES volunteers.

Refreshments will be available for purchase. Also, various health awareness booths will be set up.

The fundraising goal is being unveiled during the event.

Sponsors are the Amherst Youth Board and Youth Foundation, members of ECO and the Boys and Girls Club.
