Take a swing to benefit organizations

Golfers can spend a day on the course while raising money for local charitable organizations.

Aspire of Western

New York

Aspire of Western New York has named Dennis Williams of Channel 4 as the emcee for the 17th annual Going for the Green Golf Tournament. The event will be held on Monday, June 4 at the Brookfield Country Club, 5120 Shimerville Road, Clarence.

Hosted by Dopkins & Company, LLP, the tournament will benefit the more than 2,400 children and adults served by Aspire at home, in clinics, day services, schools and residential facilities in Western New York.

Kaleida Health

Foundation

The seventh annual Kaleida Classic Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 11 at the Country Club of Buffalo, 309 Youngs Road. Morning and afternoon flights are available (7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m).

Proceeds will be used to revamp the Buffalo General Hospital Emergency Department.

The Kaleida Health Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization supporting the Buffalo General Hospital, DeGraff Memorial Hospital, Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and the Visiting Nursing Association of WNY.

Kelly Heinz-Grundner

Brain Tumor

Foundation

Transit Valley Country Club, 8920 Transit Road, East Amherst, will be the site of the Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Foundation's second annual golf invitational and dinner on Monday, June 11.

The golf invitational is being presented by Petri Baking Products Inc. and is designed to increase awareness and raise funds to support the initiatives of the nonprofit cancer foundation. The foundation was formed by Clarence native Christopher T. Grundner in honor of his late wife, Kelly Heinz-Grundner.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the tournament play from 1 to 6 p.m. and a dinner and award ceremony from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $150 per golfer. Corporate packages and dinner tickets are available.
