Registration open at rec. department

The Town of Amherst Recreation Department has opened registration for its summer programs.

+ The Summer Sports Clinics for 2007 are half-day, weeklong clinics for children ages 6 through 13 and are held at the Clearfield Community Center, 730 Hopkins Road, and the North Amherst Recreational Center, 4415 Millersport Highway at New Road, from 9:30 a.m. to noon or from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The registration fee is $10 per child, and two sessions may be registered for simultaneously.

+ Inline Roller Hockey for ages 7 through 14 meets daily from either 9 to 10:45 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or 2:15 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Amherst Pepsi Center, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive.

Registration is $25 per session, and participants may register for more than one session.

+ Tennis for children and adults at all ability levels will be held in two sessions: June 24 to July 18 or July 19 to Aug. 10 at various locations.

Registration is $15 per session, and participants may register for more than one session. Registration for Tiny Tots is $7.

+ Badminton, for beginners to advanced players will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road.

Registration is $15 for residents and $40 for nonresidents.

+ Individuals with disabilities for children will be held from 9:30 to noon Saturdays, June 30 through Aug. 11 at the Clearfield Community Center. The adult program will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, June 26 through Aug. 7 at Clearfield.

Registration is $10 per program.

+ Junior Golf Camp, for ages 8 through 15, will be held in four, three-day sessions at the Audubon and Par 3 Golf courses, 500 and 475 Maple Road.

Registration is $115 for residents and $140 for nonresidents. Enrollment is limited to 45 students per session.

+ Volleyball for adults will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, June 27 through Aug. 29.

Registration is $15 per person at the Clearfield Community Center.

+ Swimming programs for all ages will be held at the North Forest Pool or the Clearfield Community Center.

Registration is $10 per session, $20 for the swim team, and $15 for water exercise on Tuesday and Thursday and $10 for Saturday.

Walk-in registration will be from 6 to 8 p.m. July 5 and July 24 at the Amherst Pepsi Center. A drop box will be available at the Amherst Pepsi Center for session 1, June 4-6; session 2, June 25-27; and session 3, July 16-18.

All registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Mail-in registration is currently open and will end on Friday, June 1.
