EPIC seminar set at center

A recent change in state law requires Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage enrollees to join a Medicare Part D drug plan as a condition of eligibility.

EPIC will provide Part D premium assistance to all enrollees, and will continue to provide supplemental coverage for their drug costs not covered by Medicare including deductibles, co-payments, non-covered drugs and gap coverage.

The new law is effective July 1. 2007. All enrollees will receive letters explaining how EPIC will provide them with Part D premium assistance.

To help seniors understand the change an EPIC outreach representative will be present at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31 at the Amherst Center for Senior Services, 570 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst.

Seniors who have received a letter from EPIC should bring it to the meeting.
